Amy Kobelt, MA, RCC (she/her) — Registered Clinical Counsellor · 10+ Years Experience

Amy Kobelt, Private Practice Consultant and Registered Clinical Counsellor
About Amy
Registered Clinical Counsellor, group practice owner, and travel-lover.

I started out working for multiple group practices before building my own solo work, eventually scaling it into Haven Wellness Collective, a multidisciplinary group practice in Vancouver.

As my business grew, I realized that my career didn't have to compete with my love for the world. I packed my laptop and spent a year managing my Vancouver team from coffee shops and Airbnbs across South America.

But my version of freedom doesn't have to be yours.

Whether your dream is a location-independent lifestyle, a boutique physical office, or simply a three-day work week with clients that leave you feeling fulfilled and energized — I'm here to help you build it.

With 10+ years of clinical experience and my MA in Counselling Psychology, I blend clinical integrity with modern strategy.

How I can support you

I'm dedicated to helping fellow therapists achieve success and build a practice that works best for you.

Growth

Expand Your Private Practice

For therapists with an established solo practice who are curious about or ready to build a group practice. Growing from solo to group is a big decision — emotionally, financially, and energetically. It's not as simple as adding another counsellor.

Your solo practice has been doing well, and you might be finding yourself wondering, "Should I expand?" Maybe you're consistently full, feeling stretched thin, or imagining a version of your practice that offers more sustainability, flexibility, or impact.

Together we'll work through:
  • Split fee models and therapist compensation structures
  • Contracts, ethical practices, and legal considerations
  • How to select the right team members
  • Your role as a leader vs. clinician
  • Growth mapping and when to take the leap
  • Leasing, space planning, and overhead
  • Marketing and branding as a group practice
Clinical

Supervision & Clinical Consultation

Clinical supervision for therapists looking for a collaborative, reflective environment. Whether you're navigating "stuckness" with a client or looking to build more confidence in your clinical identity, I offer a safe, non-hierarchical space rooted in relational, trauma-informed, and attachment-based approaches.

Areas of clinical focus:
  • Trauma & Complex PTSD — Trauma processing (EMDR, OEI, Lifespan Integration) with embodiment-based perspectives. Specializing in relational, childhood, and sexual trauma.
  • Eating Disorders & Body Image — Trauma-informed, Health at Every Size, and Intuitive Eating frameworks.
  • Relationship & Attachment — Psychodynamic and attachment-oriented perspectives on relationship conflicts.
  • Anxiety & Perfectionism — Self-criticism, imposter syndrome, and high-pressure cycles.
  • Children & Youth — Navigating the complex ethics and boundaries of working with minors in private practice.
  • Clinical Burnout & Vicarious Trauma — Processing the emotional toll of the work and building sustainable capacity.

Certifications: DBT, EMDR Practitioner, Embodiment Theory (Hillary McBride), Lifespan Integration Level 1, OEI Level 2, Sandtray Therapy, San'yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training.

FAQ
Common questions
What does a typical private practice consultation session look like?

Each consultation is customized to your practice stage. Sessions focus on defining your immediate goals and cover systems and strategies for building a sustainable business model aligned with your personal values.

How often should I book sessions?

Frequency is flexible based on your individual needs. Options range from bi-weekly or monthly support during foundation-building to booking as needed for specific challenges. No mandatory long-term contracts.

How do I start a private therapy practice in BC?

There are a lot of moving pieces — BCACC requirements, choosing a platform, setting your fees, and more. I provide step-by-step guidance for transitioning from agency work to a profitable private practice.

Do I have to want to be a digital nomad to work with you?

Not at all! My travel lifestyle is my version of freedom — yours might look completely different. Whether you want part-time work, a physical office, or better work-life boundaries, the consulting is shaped around your goals.

Can you help me scale my solo practice into a group practice?

Yes — this is one of my core services. I offer guidance on transitioning from solo to group practice, including models, systems, and leadership strategies. I built Haven Wellness Collective from the ground up, so I know what it takes.
